Services pages

Use the Services pages to add services, and generate the maintenance menu and customer quote.

All services from all categories are initially shown. The service category is indicated by an acronym beside the service (RS = Recommended Services, FSM=Factory Scheduled Maintenance, OFM=Other Factory Maintenance etc.). Use the search field at the top to search for a service across all categories.

Select an individual tab to see the service page just for that category.

Note: Once an individual tab is selected, the search field only searches the current list.

All the Services pages are navigated in the same way. Each page has the following features:

The Services section lists all available services to choose from in the category.

To select a service, click beside it.

  • The icon turns green and the service is added to the Selected Services list on the right.

To deselect a service and remove it from the Selected Services list, either:

  • Click beside it, or
  • Click in the Selected Services list.

As on the Concerns page, the right side of the page shows selected services chosen from the available services lists. Information includes parts, labor and total prices.

  1. Note the icon which indicates if the customer has a service contract (if enabled).
  2. Change the pay type if necessary. The available types are set by your dealership based on your DMS values.
    • If enabled for your dealership, update the prices as needed.
  3. Enter a service line comment if desired.
    • On the tablet, click in the comment box then activate SIRI or Speech-to-Text to dictate the comment.

Note: If using an iPad, be careful when dictating a comment to SIRI about air conditioning. It is important to say "Air Conditioning", not "AC", as SIRI will display "A/C" but the "/" is not an acceptable character to the DMS and the push will fail.

  1. Review the price totals for the list.

From any of the Services pages, you can generate the current quote for the customer to review.

Prior to reviewing the factory scheduled maintenance services with the customer, it is a good practice to generate the maintenance menu for the vehicle.

Note: A good habit is to print the maintenance menu in advance. It will save the advisor time and increase their maintenance penetration (the amount of factory scheduled maintenance sold versus offered).

To select what to include on your menu, go to the Menu Options subtab and change the dealership default options if desired:

Click "Menu" to generate the maintenance menu as a PDF.

Note: It is good practice to highlight the current interval and hand the menu to the customer saying "This is what the factory requires at this interval". Then just be quiet and wait for the customer to respond. The customer will usually buy the services. Do not talk yourself out of selling services. Let them make an informed decision.

The Vehicle Health page shows recall information, if enabled for the dealership.

All items are pre-selected. They can be de-selected as needed.

Note: At this time, these items also appear on the Concerns page and can be selected/de-selected from either location.

 

Factory Scheduled Maintenance lists the services due for the VIN at the specified odometer interval. The services are presented as a package if packaged services are implemented at your dealership. The services offered will match OEM recommendations.

Search for and add services to the RO using the steps described in Navigating the Services pages. In general, the factory scheduled maintenance package will be pre-checked.

Note: The service items in a package cannot be selected or deselected separately.

If there is any question regarding the benefits of a service, click next to the service for more information (if enabled at your dealership). This displays the feature benefit statement that can be used by the advisor or shown to the customer if they declined a service.

 

Other Factory Maintenance lists all available Factory Scheduled Maintenance for the VIN not due at the selected interval. Use this to add replacement items and services not recommended at this interval.

Recommended Services, or 'a la carte' services offered by the dealer, appear in this section. Recommendations and pricing are set by the dealership.

If tire provider integration is enabled, the Tires page can be used to make tire choices. Contact Client Support if you need further information.

Your tire provider will usually identify:

  • Tire choices available for the specific VIN.
  • OEM tire fittings for the VIN or Year/Make/Model.
  • The dealership-specific settings such as pricing, installation fees and availability.

Using Dealer Tire as an example, add tires to the RO as follows:

  1. Select Add Tire(s) (1, 2, 3 and/or 4) to connect to your provider and select the tire(s) needed. Multiple selections are offered as some vehicles require different tires on the front and rear, or on the right and left.

    An error message may appear if:
    • there is a problem with the tire provider integration. Contact your administrator or call Client Support.
    • there is no integrated tire provider, add tires using the alternate method for your dealership.

Note: Add Tire(s) 1, 2, 3 and 4 distinguish different lines to be added to the RO and do not indicate quantity.

  1. Enter further information, if prompted:

  1. All available tires for the selected VIN and options are listed.
    • If there are no tires available, an error message will appear.
  1. Select a tire and view the associated information. Discuss details of the tire with the customer.

  1. Select the number of tires to be added and review the price with the customer before adding the tires to the write-up. A confirmation message appears and the tire(s) will be added to the Selected Services list, along with the quantity and price:

 

All services should now have been added to the RO, comments entered, the maintenance menu generated and the services agreed to by the customer. Continue to the Walk Around step.
