Marking the inspection completed

After completing all of the recommendations on the inspection item list, the Technician must save then click “Mark Completed”.

Selecting the “Mark Completed” button refreshes the page and returns the Technician to the vehicle queue. The status changes to . The Service Advisor must now continue by reviewing the inspection results as described in Reviewing the inspection.

If “Parts Requested” was selected for any of the recommendations, the status changes to . Refer to Parts Advisor's role for the Parts Department steps to complete the parts information.

 

If revisions are enabled at the dealership for the specified user type:

  • The Technician can make revisions once the inspection is in Completed, Reviewed or Confirmed status, such as adding additional recommendations.
  • The Parts Advisor can make parts availability and pricing changes. The Technician needs to mark the inspection revised first.
  • The Service Advisor can make revisions on the Recommendation page once the inspection is in Confirmed status (e.g. a price change or a decision change). Prior to this, changes here are not considered revisions.

In general, to make a revision:

  1. Click "Revise Inspection".
    • The status changes immediately to In-Revision:

Note: Information on the Inspection page can only be entered or revised when the status is Started or In-Revision.

  1. Make the necessary changes then click "Save".
    • If the revision is not being initiated by the Technician, they are notified. They can also see that the status has changed to In Revision in the vehicle queue.
  2. The Technician reviews the change and selects "Mark Completed" to mark the inspection complete again. This must be done regardless of who made the change.
    1. If a new or revised parts request was made, the status changes to and the Parts Department is notified.
    2. Otherwise, the status changes to and the Service Advisor is notified.

As the revised inspection continues through the process, the Technician Inspection status continues to show as 'Revised' to indicate that a change was made at some point:


An inspection can be revised as often as necessary.

Note: When looking at the service lane in Service Dashboard or Workspace, the status does not progress when a revision is initiated. It remains in the status it was in prior to revising the inspection. For example, if the Service Dashboard status is in the 'Reviewed' gate, it skips the 'Confirmed' and 'Work in Progress' gates and moves directly to 'Delivery Ready' once the revised inspection is marked Ready for Processing.
