Grouping vehicles

Click at the top of the Vehicle Queue page to display the Group By controls.

These controls allow you to sort and group the vehicles in the vehicle queue list by Make, Transportation Option, Parts indicator, Employee, Status, Service Advisor, Service Technician, Status, Flags, or by a Custom category defined by the Service Advisor (do not use Employee at this time).

Note: Alternatively, click on a column header to sort the queue by that column as described in General vehicle queue information.

  1. The "Group options" button turns gray when the controls are displayed and white when hidden.
  2. The "Group by" controls include the available sort options. Click on a sort option to add it to the grouping box. There can be a primary and secondary selection. The list is automatically grouped according to the options selected.

When finished, click on the right of this page to hide the controls.

The following examples show how the group by controls can be used to customize your vehicle queue:

 

In the first example, the Service Advisor needs to see the status of all vehicles in the queue in order to understand the work flow.

 

The second example shows a grouping by Service Advisor. In this way, Service Advisors can quickly identify their list of customers in the queue.

 

This example shows grouping by both Service Advisor and vehicle Status. Adding a secondary group option further sorts the vehicle queue list. In this case, the Service Advisor can get a better understanding of where their customers/vehicles are in the overall flow of the repair order process.

 

This final grouping example shows sorting by Custom. Custom group names are custom sort categories defined by the Service Advisor to best suit their process work flow. In this example, previously, the Service Advisor created the group name 'Pick up at 3' then assigned it to vehicles in the queue. Refer to Working in the service lane.

All vehicles not assigned a custom group name are listed under Others.
